Announcements for the 2015 GPC Science Olympiad.

Check this page regularly for updates, as all updates and information are posted here for team coach's. Announcements will NOT be emailed. It is the responsibility of the coach to check for updates and information.

Mar 2, 2015: Results for the division C Science Olympiad held at Georgia Perimeter College are now final.

Mar 2, 2015: Remaining photo's from the day are posted.

Mar 1, 2015: A query came through regarding team composition for some schools. The National Science Olympiad site identifies the team composition as "A team may have up to fifteen (15) members. A maximum of seven (7) 12th grade students is permitted on a Division C team." No teams who competed had more than 7 seniors (grade 12) on a single team. Some teams did have 7 seniors, but none had more than 7 seniors on a single team. No single team had more than 15 students on it.

Mar 1, 2015: Scores are not final until Monday 3/2/15 at 5pm. The following files were updated:

Feb 28, 2015: We only had one evaluation form turned in at the end of the awards ceremony. Team coaches only, please complete the evaluation form and email to Mark Hollier (Mark.Hollier@gpc.edu).

Feb 28, 2015: Team coaches: If you are missing any ribbons from your team packet please email Mark Hollier (Mark.Hollier@gpc.edu) with a list of which ones you are missing and an address to send them to. For the teams that did not attend the awards ceremony, your team packet will be mailed to you. Please email Mark Hollier (Mark.Hollier@gpc.edu) with an address to send them to.

Feb 28, 2015: Thanks to all the event coordiantors who put together the events, the volunteers who assisted on the event (list of student volunteers), the team coaches, and all the participants. We hope you had a great time at our event!

Feb 28, 2015: Overall rankings, scores, and individual event scores are now posted (Events results page). Some photo's from the day are posted, more will follow before the end of Monday 3/2/15.

Feb 27, 2015: Please bring a printed and signed copy of your team rosters with you to the event.

Feb 27, 2015: Impound for Compound Machines and It's about time will be in CC-1210 between 8:00am and 8:30am.

Feb 26, 2015: For device events that had an online signup, teams will only be allowed to compete at the times they signed up for. Teams who turn up at a different time to what is listed, or did not sign up for a time slot, will NOT be allowed to compete.

Feb 26, 2015: The signup for device events is closed. Any further changes will not be accepted. The official times are now posted at the bottom of the Online Sign-up for device events page.

Feb 23, 2015: Team coaches are reminded to complete this Official Roster form to list your participants. Email the completed excel file to Mark.Hollier@gpc.edu at least three days prior to the event and bring a printed and signed copy with you on the day of the event.

Feb 23, 2015: All online signup events now have time slots available to be filled by teams who have not signed up for a slot. I will continue to monitor this to ensure everyone gets a spot if they want one for all events. Until all slots are full I will not be adding any times after the last one currently listed. Online signup for device events ends Wednesday night. No changes will be allowed after that time.

Feb 23, 2015: Check the GPC and State specific event rules. GPC rules will be considered first, then State rules come after GPC rules, and if nothing is mentioned for either GPC or State rules, then National rules will be followed.

Feb 23, 2015: For online signup events: (i) If you have reduced how many teams you are bringing to our event you need to go to the online signup device site and remove any slots that you will not be needing. (ii) The new team, and some other teams still have not signed up and we only have a limited number of slots in the day. (iii) As directed by the GPC Science Olympiad website, you had to state which team will be attending which time slot. Any slots where teams have not been identified by a number (if you’re bringing multiple teams) will be deleted at 4pm today.

Feb 23, 2015: We have a new team coming to us this weekend due to bad weather in their school district issuing a non-transport statement for any school event.

Feb 22, 2015: For network access on the day of event, use the SSID "Jagtalk guest".

Feb 20, 2015: Team coaches are reminded to complete this Official Roster form to list your participants. Email the completed excel file to Mark.Hollier@gpc.edu at least three days prior to the event and bring a printed and signed copy with you on the day of the event.

Feb 20, 2015: Additional time slots added for online sign-up events for Scrambler, Bungee Drop, Wright Stuff, Bridge Building, and Mission Possible.

Feb 16, 2015: Finalized schedule now posted. Use the pdf file that is linked to for printing. Printing from the schedule page directly will give a low quality image that will be blurry.

Feb 9, 2015: The schedule is currently being finalized, and will hopefully be posted with room locations next week.

Feb 9, 2015: Two more time slots for Bungee drop have been added to the online signup site.

Feb 9, 2015: Four computers will be available for team coaches use in CN-2101 (the registration room) throughout the day. Documents and materials posted on this website will NOT be printed for teams (if you want paper copies, print them ahead of time yourself). These four computers can be used to access this website throughout the day.

Jan 25, 2015: Team coaches are reminded to complete this Official Roster form to list your participants. Email the completed excel file to Mark.Hollier@gpc.edu at least three days prior to the event and bring a printed and signed copy with you on the day of the event.

Jan 25, 2015: Update on GA specific rules can be found here.

Dec 12, 2014: Please follow directions listed on the Online sign-up for device events page when signing up for the device events. Also read the GA and GPC specific event rules page for information. The team of "LHS Science Team" needs to update their team name to the full school name as I do not know which school this is (based on the full school names it could be one of two that start with an L, but there is a slim chance it one of the other schools).

Dec 11, 2014: Email to team coaches sent and online device sign-up open (Online sign-up for device events).

Dec 11, 2014: School time slot information published (Time Slot Assignments).

Dec 6, 2014: Information for schools competing at GPC Regional Event received.

Nov 6, 2014: Tentative schedule is now available on the event information and schedule page.

Oct 17, 2014: Check the page for Georgia specific rules and GPC specific rules for events.

Oct 17, 2014: The online device sign-up will be made available before December 2014, and will remain open until the Wednesday before the event. More information is located on the Online Sign-up for Device Events page (check this page regularly for updates!). You MUST register with the sign-up site before hand using the email address that you used when regsitered with the State Directors.

Oct 17, 2014: Please use this Official Roster form to list your participants. Email the completed excel file to Mark.Hollier@gpc.edu three days prior to the event and bring a printed and signed copy with you on the day of the event.

Oct 17, 2014: We are already working hard to prepare for this event, as I am sure you are also. If you know now that you will have any students with physical disabilities, please advise us now before we begin scheduling rooms for the events. Please note that we may not offer all (or any) of the trial events, depending upon the availability of personnel and rooms, since these are not required events. This will be decided as we develop the final schedule and you will be advised of our decision. The rules for the trial events may be found on the national web site.

Oct 17, 2014: When you come, please plan to park in Student Lot #6 (near Buildings “CG and CB"). This lot can be accessed from Memorial Drive (there is a sign, but it may be easily overlooked) or Lots #4 and 5 near building CF (off of Memorial College Drive).

Oct 17, 2014: Right now, we are planning on scheduling events (including registration) in buildings "N", "C", "D", G (Gym), and the JCLRC (Jim Cherry Learning Resource Center). Building "N" is the Student Center and that is where students will probably want to gather when they are not involved in events. The awards ceremony will most likely be in the Auditorium of the JCLRC (the library). It is a fairly small campus with covered walkways, so we hope that you will be able to navigate the campus easily.
