Volunteering for the Perimeter College Science Olympiad

The Science Olympiad is a nationally recognized program for enhancing science education and interest in science. It is a science competition for teams of up to 15 students competing in 23 different age-related events over the course of the day. PC has hosts a Division C regional event each year for high school students. We have up to 36 teams from local (and some more distant) high schools participating each year. The activities emphasize doing and applying science. Teams advance from regional to state to national competitions.

Perimeter College will host a Division C Science Olympiad Event on Saturday March , 2024 on the Clarkston campus. A campus map and directions can be found here.

Volunteers are required to sign in at the Science Department (CC-1120) and sign out when they leave.

Volunteers should plan to arrive between 07:30 and 09:00 (7:30am and 9:00am). We need volunteers until approximately 4pm.

If your instructor is offering extra credit when you volunteer:

Volunteers could be assigned any of the following activities. This is not a complete list, just examples of the types of jobs we require to volunteers to help with.

If we have too many volunteers, then please wait in the corridor near the Science Department Office until you are assigned a job. Please bring something to do in case you are not assigned a job immediately. Depending on the number of volunteers we get, It is possible that you may not be given a job.

Due to health and safety concerns / policies, we are not allowed to provide volunteers with food and/or drink. Please bring your own food / drink as necessary or utilize the campus cafe.

Faculty: The list of which students volunteered and when they arrived / left is on the Science Olympiad iCollege site.
