2024 Science in the News
This year we are replacing the quiz bowl with an event created by the State Directors. A similar event is being held on most regional tournaments and may be held at teh State Tournament as well.
Description: Two students from each team will complete a written test based on recent scientific news. They will demonstrate an awareness of current events as well as critical thinking in media literacy and science communication.
Time: 3pm to 4pm
Location: Same as the awards ceremony
Scoring: This event will be scored and ranks announced. However, the score will not count towards the teams score for any purpose other than knowing how well you did on this event.
